What the scorecard reviews

A free, five-minute look at the foundations of your separation.

When everything feels urgent, it’s hard to know where to start.

This free assessment checks six important areas of your separation, helping you spot warning signs and identify practical steps before difficulties become entrenched.

  • Communication and Boundaries

How conversations about parenting, money and housing are going, and whether you can disagree without pressure or fear.

  • Finances and Potential Costs

Whether you can cover essential expenses, understand your shared finances and prepare for potential separation and legal costs.

  • Housing

How clear and workable your short- and longer-term living arrangements are for you and your children.

  • Timing and Next Steps

How aligned your timeframes are for formalising the separation, how clear your next steps feel, and whether important dates are being addressed.

Why Family.Reimagined

Why I created this scorecard.

I’m Alex Gray, founder of Family.Reimagined. My own separation—including representing myself in family court—showed me how overwhelming it can be to manage parenting, finances, legal decisions and emotional upheaval without a clear roadmap.

For more than three years, I’ve also helped administer the Self Represented in Family Law Australia Facebook community, now with over 4,200 members. I hear the same concerns repeatedly: uncertainty about what happens next, mounting costs, difficult communication and worries about the children.

I created this scorecard to help you pause, recognise areas that may need attention and take a more informed next step—whether you’re considering separation or already navigating it.

A coordinated team, not a single service

Family.Reimagined brings professional services together so you are supported across the emotional, parenting, financial, legal and practical sides of separation at once.

Built for separating parents in Australia

Everything here is shaped around a clear, supportive path through family transitions, with your children's stability kept at the centre.

Grounded in real research

The scorecard draws on what separating Australians told us about where things go wrong, so it points you at what genuinely matters.
